Built by a fan. Fueled by passion. All-around love for the game.
San Francisco, CA, Super Bowl LX — Football Is Sexy, the woman-founded football media brand redefining how the game is taught, talked about, and celebrated, announces that its founder, Monica Madrid, will be on Media Row at Super Bowl LX in San Francisco.
Built by a fan, fueled by passion, and an all-around love for the game, Football Is Sexy is a football platform for all people and all teams, while intentionally centering and celebrating the women fan. The brand gives women a space to feel seen, heard, and respected for their passion, knowledge, and fandom and is a true celebration of the game.
Unlike traditional sports media, Football Is Sexy focuses on teaching and talking football through humor and knowledge, entertaining, and keeping it inclusive for both lifelong fans and those just learning. It is currently the only football women owned brand founded by a woman that consistently teaches and talks football.
A Story Rooted in the 49ers
Madrid’s journey into football began at home with her father, a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan.
“My dad taught me the game,” Madrid says. “We bonded over fumbles and touchdowns. When my father passed away of cancer, I realized how my favorite memories were all wrapped around football. I just had to teach the game to others who weren’t as lucky to have a dad like mine teach them the game.”
As an adult, Madrid noticed that women fans, despite being deeply passionate and knowledgeable, were often overlooked or underestimated in football spaces. Football Is Sexy was born from the desire to change that narrative.
“This brand is about honoring how many women already love football and welcoming new fans in without intimidation,” Madrid adds.
A New Voice in Football Media
Through its podcast, mobile app, live events, and digital content, Football Is Sexy blends football education with culture, confidence, and community. The platform features conversations with former players, coaches, entertainers, and fans, all united by their love of the game.
Guests include: Willie McGinest (Patriots) 3 x Super Bowl champion: Bruce Arians (Head Coach) Super Bowl champion, Dante Hall, (Chiefs) hall of famer, and Jeff Garcia (49ers) quarterback.
Madrid’s presence on Super Bowl 60 Media Row marks a milestone not just for the brand, but for women-led sports media.
“Women don’t just belong in football spaces,” Madrid says. “We’ve always been here. We are just now with social media, unleashing what’s always been inside.”
